The phone lines are answered by trained professionals available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. The call is free and confidential. In-Home Outreach Team (IHOT) Program: consists of three mobile teams operating in the North Coastal, Central and East regions of San Diego County’s Health and Human Services Agency. The program will provide outreach and engagement services to Individuals’ with serious mental illness who are reluctant to receive outpatient treatment and to their families or caretakers. Outreach will be done in homes, hospitals and jails, wherever services can be most effectively provided. The goal of IHOT is to effectively connect individuals to outpatient treatment, reducing the effects of untreated mental illness in individuals and to their families. Contact: (619) 683-3100.

Psychiatric Emergency Response Team (PERT) - Provides emergency assessment and referral for individuals with mental illness who come to the attention of law enforcement through phone calls from community members or in-field law enforcement request for emergency assistance. PERT pairs licensed mental health clinicians with uniformed law enforcement officers/deputies. Ask for the PERT team by Calling SD Police at (619) 531-2000 or Sheriff Department at (858) 565-5200.
