Transitioning from pediatric to adult health care can present unique challenges for people with developmental disabilities. Parents may wonder:
-Do adult providers understand my young adultΓÇÖs disability?
-Will the new provider be able to communicate effectively with my adult child?
-What resources exist to assist with this essential step toward independence?
